The tropical climate (mean temperature around 25.95 °C and mean precipitation around 8.74 mm) delayed the regional onset. However, the regional onset in dry climates emerged earlier as consequence of the lower temperatures and higher precipitations (20.57 °C and 20.87 mm respectively) than the observed in the tropical climate. The fastest regional onsets were observed in tempered climates in states where the lowest temperatures and lowest precipitations were registered (19.65 °C and 8.48 mm respectively). Meteorological factors influenced the trend on the regional outbreaks in Mexican's states likely by the host predisposition and susceptibility during the cold winter season. In Mexico, the climate characteristics played a crucial role on the local infection during the phase 1 being the tempered regions (as Michoacán, Jalisco, Puebla, etc.) more vulnerable than the dry (as Chihuahua, Durango or Zacatecas, etc.) or tropical areas (as Colima, Campeche, Morelos etc.).Beijing is a major metropolis with significant land subsidence because of long-term overexploitation of groundwater. While the South-to-North Water Diversion Project (SWDP) has provided new water sources Beijing; it has changed the pattern of land subsidence evolution in Beijing since 2015. Here we address how land subsidence evolution before and after SWDP, and we quantify also the impact of groundwater level changes in different aquifers on land subsidence at spatial scale. Subsidence evolution before and after SWDP were compared by adopting Persistent Scatterer Inteferomotry (PSI) with Radarsat-2 and Sentinel-1 data. Spatial correlation between Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) derived subsidence and groundwater levels in four aquifers was investigated using the Random Forest (RF) machine learning algorithm and Geographical Detectors (GD) technique. Extensometer deformation data and corresponding variation in groundwater level observations at three monitoring stations were used for validations. The study reveals that firstly, both InSAR-derived subsidence area and maximum annual deformation rate decreased from 79.2% and 141 mm/yr before SWDP, to 60.1% and 135 mm/yr after SWDP. A reduction of time series deformation at four subsidence centers started about two years after the commence of SWDP in 2015. Secondly, the variation of groundwater level in the second confined aquifer has the strongest spatial correlation with subsidence in all the aquifers, but its impact on this aquifer has decreased after SWDP. These findings have an important scientific significance for the rational allocation of water resources and management strategy for mitigating hazards associated with subsidence against the background of SWDP.There has been a substantial growth in the deployment of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels in the past couple decades. Solar PVs have a life span of about 25 years and much of the deployed PVs will soon reach their end of life (EoL). It is now timely to plan for the EoL of PVs to recover valuable materials and recycle PV modules sustainably. The goal of this study was to analyze the environmental impacts of different recycling methods for crystalline silicon (c-Si) and CdTe? panels. A life cycle assessment (LCA) was performed for delamination and material separation phases of recycling solar panels. The LCA results showed that the recycling of c-Si and CdTe? PVs contribute 13-25% and 3-4%, respectively to the entire PV lifecycle impacts. Also, for both c-Si and CdTe? PVs, the thermal-based recycling methods resulted in lower environmental impacts than chemical and mechanical methods, except for pyrolysis. Nitric acid dissolution used for c-Si PV recycling had the highest impacts among all methods since the material consumption for this method has not been optimized for industrial use. Results from this study suggested that current techniques used in recycling of PVs, produce higher impacts than extraction of Al, Si and glass for c-Si and extraction of glass for CdTe?. In others, it is also a responsibility of ordinary citizens. In two studies with 4- to 7-year-olds (n = 232) and adults (n = 76), we examined developing judgments about whether certain individuals, either authority figures or peers, are obligated to intervene (Study 1) or to punish (Study 2) after witnessing an antisocial action. In both studies, children and adults judged authority figures as obligated to act, but only younger children judged ordinary individuals as also obligated to do so. Taken together, the present findings suggest that younger children, at least in the United States, start off viewing norm enforcement as a universal responsibility, entrusting even ordinary citizens with a duty to intervene in response to antisocial individuals. Older children and adults, though, see obligations as role-dependent-only authority figures are obligated to intervene.A series of thirty one novel 2-(((1-(substituted phenyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)methoxy)carbonyl)-3-methylquinoxaline-1,4-dioxide (7a-l), 3-(((1-(substituted phenyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)methoxy)carbonyl)-6-chloro-2-methylquinoxaline-1,4-dioxide (8a-l) and 2-(((1-(substituted phenyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)methoxy)carbonyl)-6,7-dichloro-3-methylquinoxaline-1,4-dioxide (9a-g) analogues were synthesized, characterized using various analytical techniques and single crystal was developed for the compounds 8 g and 9f. Synthesized compounds were evaluated for in vitro anti-tubercular activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv strain and two clinical isolates Spec. 210 and Spec. 192. The titled compounds exhibited minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) ranging from 30.35 to 252.00 µM. Among the tested compounds, 8e, 8 l, 9c and 9d exhibited moderate activity (MIC = 47.6 - 52.0 µM) and 8a exhibited significant anti-tubercular activity (MIC = 30.35 µM). Furthermore, 8e, 8 l, and 9d were found to be less toxic against human embryonic kidney, HEK 293 cell lines. |
