ral history. All other VH subgroups exhibited more aggressive natural history than UCUB in nonmetastatic stages only. Despite growing evidence of cardiovascular complications associated with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), there are few data regarding the performance of transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) and the spectrum of echocardiographic findings in this disease. A retrospective analysis was performed among adult patients admitted to a quaternary care center in New York City between March 1 and April 3, 2020. Patients were included if they underwent TTE during the hospitalization after a known positive diagnosis for COVID-19. Demographic and clinical data were obtained using chart abstraction from the electronic medical record. Of 749 patients, 72 (9.6%) underwent TTE following positive results on severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 polymerase chain reaction testing. The most common clinical indications for TTE were concern for a major acute cardiovascular event (45.8%) and hemodynamic instability (29.2%). Although most patients had preserved biventricular function, 34.7% were found to have left as well as findings seen on TTE, in hospitalized patients with COVID-19. In appropriately selected patients, TTE can be an invaluable tool for guiding COVID-19 clinical management. Medical conferences are integral to academic medicine, with academic posters being a well-established medium for presenting research. However, conferences carry an ecological footprint due to greenhouse gas emissions. Furthermore, traditional conference formats have recently not been possible due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Herein we examine the carbon footprint associated with travel by presenting delegates to the Fall SPU conferences from 2013 to 2019, and the 2015 ESPU conference. Online programs for the targeted SPU Fall meetings and the 2015 ESPU Annual Meeting were retrospectively reviewed. Variables collected included meeting location and presenter home base. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/raphin1.html Distance traveled by the presenter, and likely CO e of this return trip were estimated using online calculators. Analysis was performed using the Kruskal-Wallis-H test with pairwise comparisons to detect differences in round trip distances and CO e between meeting locations. Six Fall SPU conferences and one ESPU conference were reviewed. The majority of presenters were from the region (North America and Europe, respectively), for both SPU and ESPU. The median round trip distance was 2596.34 miles (IQR 1420.96-4438.30), and the median CO e 0.61 metric tons (IQR 0.36-1.02). We found that the distances traveled to conferences in the Western USA and Europe were slightly further than those to conferences in Central Canada and the Southern US. The difference in CO e between these locations did not achieve statistical significance. Presenter travel to and from pediatric urological conferences generates an important carbon footprint and may not be possible in the medium-term future due to a global pandemic. We should explore strategies to allow meetings and knowledge exchange to continue whilst reducing the need for travel and the ecological burden of conferences. Level III Most comparative level of evidence.Level III Most comparative level of evidence. To determine if there is an association between area-based visceral abdominal adipose tissue (VAT), subcutaneous abdominal adipose tissue (SAT), and abdominal circumference measured on computed tomography (CT) angiography before trans-catheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and post-TAVR acute kidney injury (AKI). In this retrospective cohort study of 106 TAVR patients, SAT and VAT areas and abdominal circumference was measured on a single CT section at L4 vertebral level. Univariate comparisons between patients who did and did not develop AKI were undertaken for radiological measurements. Multivariable logistic regression was used to assess association between CT measurements and the development of post-TAVR AKI. Post-TAVR AKI occurred in 20 of 106 patients (19%). In univariate comparisons, body mass index (BMI) did not differ significantly between patients who did and did not develop AKI (p=0.14); however, VAT+SAT (443.2±163.7 versus 351±168.7 cm ; p=0.03), VAT (213.9±110.6 versus 153.9±96.1 cm ; p=0.03), and outer abdominal circumference (100.2±14.4 cm versus 91.8±13.3 cm; p=0.02) were significantly higher in the patients who did not develop post-TAVR AKI. These three measures on pre-TAVR CT angiogram remained significantly associated with reduced post-TAVR AKI with a lower incidence of post-TAVR AKI after multivariable adjustment for pre-TAVR estimated glomerular filtration rate and patient height (p<0.05). This study found that increased abdominal obesity as assessed by measures on pre-TAVR CT angiogram is associated with a significantly lower incidence of AKI.This study found that increased abdominal obesity as assessed by measures on pre-TAVR CT angiogram is associated with a significantly lower incidence of AKI.Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-based positron-emission tomography (PET)-computed tomography (CT) has shown great promise in prostate cancer imaging. This technique has demonstrated particular utility in the staging of high-risk primary cancer and in the localisation of recurrent disease. The use of fluorine-18 PSMA-1007 is advantageous, as it is excreted via the hepatobiliary system rather than urinary and the longer half-life of fluorine-18 compared to gallium tracers, allows for PSMA imaging in centres without a gallium generator. However, imaging with this tracer is not without flaws and areas of ambiguity remain. In this article, the biodistribution, clinical indications, and pearls of 18F-PSMA-1007 PET-CT in patients with prostate cancer will be discussed, as well as the potential pitfalls in the reporting of these studies. To establish a role for modified ultrafast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain in clinical paediatric patients based on clinically acceptable image quality and diagnostic accuracy. A prospective study was conducted with institutional review board approval on an ultrafast MRI brain protocol consisting of sagittal T1-weighted, axial T2-weighted, axial fluid-attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR), axial diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI), and axial T2∗-weighted sequences. Preliminary investigations revealed that the default ultrafast T2-weighted sequence was prone to pulsation artefacts. A modified ultrafast T2-weighted sequence was therefore developed to replace the default ultrafast T2-weighted sequence. Thirty-five patients with clinical indication for neuroimaging underwent ultrafast MRI, modified ultrafast T2-weighted sequence and standard MRI at 3 T. Image quality of ultrafast MRI sequences were graded as clinically "diagnostic" or "non-diagnostic" and compared against the corresponding standard MRI sequences as the reference standard.
